LAVALAND - SUBTERRANEAN RIVER OF MOLTEN LAVA

All models are a challenge and test our ability to solve any number of problems in their design and creation. But none more so than this subterranean volcanic environment with a continuously flowing river of "molten" lava.


 

This "miniature" measures 60' long, 10' wide, and culminates down a lava falls that is three stories high, yet is completely accessible for maintenance.


 

3000 gallons of fiery lava is made from translucent materials found in the liquid science and fishing lure industries.


 

The liquid dynamics of our Lava was extensively tested for flow and speed. A translucent river bottom with under lit theatrical lighting provides the intense lava glow.


 

The sculpted look of the underground environment.


 

Smoke effects sell the heat.


 

Lava re-circulates in a closed system using factory food production pumps and equipment.
